Lil Uzi Vert Brings Bangers On "Luv Is Rage 2"

The flagbearers of trap rap have managed to make the genre an empty sounding one, but the newcomers are proving that there is hope for the future of rap. Lil Uzi Vert is among the forerunners, and his new album shows a fresh and hopeful sound for the genre. Lil Uzi Vert brings bangers on Luv Is Rage 2

The dynamic of trap rap has always been about energy. Projects that attempted to make things sensual always flopped, and by committing to a formula, many artists also crumbled. Lil Uzi Vert keeps things fresh on Luv Is Rage 2 and keeps rolling throughout the entire album with fresh and even fun songs. It's impossible to not vibe with the upbeat and good feelings of 'The Way Life Goes' and 'X' (even if the latter chants "Leonardo DiCaprio" for some reason). The beginning of the album brings some great flow to prove Lil Uzi Vert's quality, '444+222' keeping things rolling even if the end production is a bit unnecessary.

Lil Uzi Vert doesn't steer away from a darker sound throughout the record either. 'UnFazed' with The Weeknd perfectly captures the sensual dark energy that The Weeknd has perfected in every effort. Even closing track, the iconic 'XO Tour Llif3' gets pretty dark. Though "push me to the edge / all my friends are dead" has become a meme, the beat is big and the atmosphere pretty dark. The entire record really does a great job at remaining fresh and doesn't ever quite get stale.

Lil Uzi Vert brings bangers on Luv Is Rage 2 and proves that hip-hop may have a bright future ahead. It's the newer artists that show a lot of promise in a genre that's becoming stale. Even if the songs become memes, there's still some quality to them.
