Mereki Provides Some Sweet Pop In "Beach"

If you've ever needed a soundtrack for a walk down the shoreline, look no further. Mereki provides some sweet pop in Beach, her new EP with a summery and cheerful vibe.

Beach is a short EP, but in it's thirteen minute run it really does well at building its sound. 'French Kissing' opens the record up warmly, the chill vibes playing towards the innocent yet risqué sense of romance she has. Those fun-loving tones set up the sound of the record, carrying through until the end. 'Got It All' picks up where 'French Kissing' left off sonically, adding some groove and funk into the sweet mixture to keep the record flowing.

Mereki definitely knows how to do a lot in a short amount of time. Beach has quite a bit of variety for being a short EP of four songs. From the summer sweetness of 'French Kissing' and the funk-ridden 'Got It All,' Mereki dives into dreamier, psychedelic textures in 'Friend Again' to give the EP a sense of longing. 'It Will' takes the record out on a big note, with an 80's drive and big percussion that drives the album to a confident end.

Mereki provides some sweet pop in Beach to give you the perfect soundtrack for a nice walk down the shoreline. It's thirteen minutes of pure love, dreams, and hope, and for it being as short as it is, it does everything it can with all its variety.
