Hearing the start of 'Good Times, Bad Times' just proves that Led Zeppelin were oozing talent from the very start: the brilliant drumming - complex yet so eloquently delivered that it sounds easy - leads into some big, jamming sections that bring the band's discography to a bustling start.

There are two sides to Led Zeppelin: a darker, rockier side, and a chiller, more bluesy side. The rock side comes through first, tracks like the dark and anthemic 'Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You' with its dramatic, big atmosphere making up the first half of the record. 'Black Mountain Side' latter on continues with this, emphasizing the band's guitar work. The bluesy side comes with a lot of chill and jazzy vibes, however, adding texture and showing the band's influences clearly. 'You Shook Me' sounds straight out of the south, diving straight into rock's blues roots. Other tracks like 'Your Time Is Gonna Come' and 'I Can't Quit You Baby' show how versatile the band was even at the start.
